Lindblad
Expeditions (LEX) is an expedition travel company providing voyages
in the Galápagos,
Antarctica, Baja California, Alaska, the Arctic, and beyond. For
more than 50 years the Lindblad family has defined life-changing
adventure travel. From the pioneering Lars-Eric Lindblad, known to
many as the father of eco-tourism, to our current president
Sven-Olof Lindblad, an ardent supporter of conservation and
environmental stewardship; Lindblad Expeditions has continually set
the industry standard for active exploration and engaged learning.
Lindblad
Expeditions has always focused on finding creative ways to explore
the places already “discovered.” Recently, in an effort to
inspire

explore and care about the planet,
Lindblad Expeditions has partnered with National Geographic in a
mission-driven alliance. As pioneers of global exploration, the
organizations work in tandem to produce innovative marine expedition
programs and to promote conservation and sustainable tourism around
the globe. The partnership develops educationally-oriented voyages
which allow guests to interact with world-renowned scientists,
naturalists and researchers while, discovering stunning natural
environments, above and below the sea, through the use of
state-of-the-art exploration tools. And, to enable better understand
the world’s remaining special places and fosters the dissemination
of geographic knowledge around the globe; Lindblad Expeditions and
National Geographic jointly administer a philanthropic fund which
supports science and conservation groups.
Philanthropy
is has always been a core value of Lindblad Expeditions and its
President, Sven-Olof Lindblad. The company believes that respectful
tourism can sustain and even repair a region and, as such, Lindblad
supports conservation in all of the company’s key travel regions,
including the Galapagos Islands, Baja California, Alaska and
Antarctica. To date, the company has raised over $5 million dollars
to support local efforts in the destinations where it travels.

Lindblad has received international recognition, including the 2007
Global Tourism Business Award, 2007 Seafood
Champion Award, U.N. Programme Global 500 Award, and recognition from
HRH, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg for his work in the Galápagos
archipelago. As a company Lindblad Expeditions has also received
numerous awards including but not limited to, being named the #1
Small-Ship Cruise Line (Travel + Leisure's World's Best Value Awards
2006); “The Best Ships in the World” and “The Best Itineraries”
(Condé
