Natural Habitat Adventures is a leader in nature travel, introducing nature enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to spectacular wildlife destinations around the world. The company was founded in 1985 after Ben Bressler left his teaching career and started offering adventure tours for students and teachers. In 1987, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) contacted Ben to assist in promoting seal watching tours in eastern Canada, in an effort to replace seal hunting. This was the exciting beginning of Natural Habitat's focus on animal-related tourism. Since then, the company has expanded to include trips to exciting wildlife spots around the world, offering itineraries designed to protect wildlife and its habitat and to provide travelers with intimate encounters with wildlife in its natural habitat.
Currently, Natural Habitat offers over 35 different wildlife viewing adventures on nearly every continent -- from polar bear tours in Churchill, Manitoba, to mountain gorilla treks in Uganda, to Mexico's amazing monarch butterfly migration. The company limits the size of their groups to an average of just nine travelers and employs the very best professional naturalist guides, allowing for meaningful and up-close encounters with wildlife in its natural surroundings. The staff at Natural Habitat Adventures carefully selects the most intimate and secluded wilderness lodges and camps for their character, comfort, and proximity to wildlife, allowing travelers to experience such remote destinations as the Arctic tundra and the verdant rainforests of Costa Rica with all the comforts of home.
